When a new year rolls around, we are given a blank slate, a fresh start, a new beginning. It is the perfect time to think about all of the experiences (good & bad) you've accumulated within the last year so you can use them to your advantage. Reevaluate your year up to now, and implement changes to benefit your life.

Reflect.
Reminisce on your memories from the last year, so much can happen in only 12 months! What are some of the most memorable experiences you've had? (Good & bad.) How have they affected your life / you as a person? Learn from everything you have gone through and use these lessons to construct a wonderful new year. Keep in mind the changes you want made and things you want to stay the same.

Cleanse & release.
Every year has its baggage, and another revolution around the sun makes this the optimum time to release it all. Your new beginning should start off feeling fresh, not like a continuation of negativity. After your reflection, remember the bad you want to rid yourself of. Remove negative thoughts, people, and environments from your life. Cleanse yourself and your home to assist you in the release. You will begin to feel lighter and more confident on the positivity ahead.

Set a goal.
You have 12 months full of possibilities up ahead. And what's a new year without setting a goal for yourself? It doesn't necessarily have to be an entire list you want to get through by next December (I often find actually these leave more disappointment than satisfaction.) Create one goal for yourself that you really want from yourself. Something that you know is definitely attainable. For example, maybe you want to take steps to learning a new hobby, visiting a new place, or reading that book that's been on your list forever. It could be anything (big or small) just make sure it is something that benefits yourself and something you can definitely accomplish.

Make a plan.
Now that you know what you want to get rid of, and the goal(s) you have in mind, begin to make a plan. It can be as simple as making a plan with a friend in the new year, or more complicated as making a plan for each month. Just something to get your excited for the new year. Maybe even purchase a planner to help you stay organized in your everyday life so you can accomplish what you desire. Again, make a plan for yourself that is attainable and not too far-fetched.  Make it easy on yourself. Construct an accessible plan to get the ball rolling that is something you will stick by to make your year absolutely wonderful.

Make a change.
Even though the new year hasn't arrived yet, what's the best time to start than now? Start the new year off with a bang by implementing one change in your life right now. Is your room a little dull? Rearrange and add some inspiration. Are you tired of your wardrobe? Make some donations and go thrifting for a new look. Work on creating a positive change that you know you have been wanting for yourself because you deserve it.

Here's to making 2017 even more amazing than 2016! I hope these steps will help you bring more positivity and love to yourself so that the next 12 months will be so wonderful.
