European Fashionista

European Fashionista - Bohemian Fashion & Travel Style | The Wanderful Soul Blog

Recently, my love & I traveled on the most incredible Mediterranean adventure where we visited 8 different countries. A big question we had was, "what should we wear?" We of course wanted to make sure we didn't stick out like sore thumbs in the
crowd as tourists. (This was more of my concern than his.) So, we packed our most comfortable (& fashionable) casual wear for walking throughout the streets of the cities we were yet to visit.

I researched online for what typical wear looks like in a few of the different cities, and found some helpful (but mostly conflicting) articles. So, I decided to not worry too much about it, and go about my normal travel attire. I was a little nervous in Barcelona, as a few posts I read talked about the Spanish dressing a little more conservatively. But, like any place you go to, people tend to dress how they like. I felt more than comfortable looking around and seeing woman rocking outfits in all different styles and lengths.

My advice to you when traveling to Europe is wear whatever the heck you'd like, while still being mindful of your belongings and surroundings. (But, maybe keep the fanny pack at home so you don't look like a complete tourist!) Remember to always be respectful of sacred places in accordance to their dress code (usually no showing of shoulders or knees.) And just remember, you are a tourist, so there's not much you can do to make yourself completely blend in with the locals. But you can certainly try!
